Winter’s Day Jobs

Some days in winter are a bit rainy and miserable… But that is great!

This is the perfect opportunity to clean out your garage or shed.  There are sure to be products you forgot you had & can use. Maybe chuck out any old rubbish in the shed.  Go through your fertilisers and potting mix to see what you have there.  You need a general fertilizer, native plant food, citrus food and some Seasol.

Buy what you are out of.  Don’t forget to use these products.  In spring fertilise everything.  Use Seasol every month or two to keep your plants’ roots healthy.

Use lime on peas of all types, on lavenders, thyme, rosemary, sage, majoram, edible fig trees, olive trees and magnolias.

Get some Multiguard snail killer – it’s effective but doesn’t kill pets or wildlife.

A good soil and potting mix wetting agent is also essential otherwise your plants will dry out all the time.

Clean up and re-stock your shed or garden.

You’ll be glad you did!
