Don’s Tips: Heliotrope

Purple Heliotrope

Heliotrope

Most people have heard of the colour Heliotrope or of Heliotrope perfume in bottles.

But they don’t grow Heliotrope plants.

These are wonderful little plants less than 1 metre tall that produce purplish or even white flowers for many months that have that stunning Heliotrope perfume – a hint of vanilla, a hint of gardenia and a hint of frangipani.

Heliotropes are available at nurseries if you hunt around. They love warm weather and warms spots in full sun in the garden.

Heliotropes are often called “cherry pie” because they have that vanilla and fruit perfume that resembles the aroma of older-style cherry pies.

You NEED a bit of romance and sensuousness in your garden.

– Get a Heliotrope.

Hooroo! Don.
