Ready-made Ponds
Landscaper, John Forrest, had trouble finding water features that were easy to install, so he decided to build his own. He teamed up with his brother, Peter, and together they developed and patented a special, lightweight material to use in the construction. They are now producing a whole range of new products that can be purchased as complete units.
John and Peter’s range of ponds and water features is wonderful for people who don’t want to go through the rigmarole of digging a hole, installing the correct liner, getting the pump to work, connecting the power, adding lights and landscaping – not to mention fixing leaks! The new water features can be bought in kit form and include the pond, sculpture, pebbles, pump, light and transformer. If the site is prepared and power and water available, they only take about 20 minutes to install. They can be used on balconies, decks or rooftops, in courtyards, internal gardens or in the backyard, and they’re relocatable.
The water features are easily lifted by two people. They are made from polyurethane, cement and fibreglass, which is then rendered, capped and coloured to suit the client. Peter and John design and manufacture their own water features, as well as using and distributing works by talented Australian artists like Yvonne George.
