Trick Horse
From the day Bobby the Quarterhorse stallion was born, he and his owner Jack have been inseparable. Jack, who once raced trotters, likes stallions and feels they are more intelligent than mares. He noticed that Bobby had a wonderful temperament and decided to start training him using a food reward system.
Mr. Ed, eat your heart out!
Bobby can do all sorts of amazing tricks on Jack’s verbal commands, including bowing and shaking hands, picking up objects from the ground, loading himself onto a horse float, giving people kisses and cuddles, telling left from right, having a whip cracked around him without flinching, and even doing his ‘business’ in a bucket!
Proud lineage
Bobby’s grandfather, Hunchbid, was an American champion. He was the first Quarterhorse to come to Australia twenty five years ago, fetching the high price of $100,000. Bobby is also a champion. He has competed in 11 shows under his registered name Zarbid, and has been placed first ten times and second once. Next year Bobby will go to stud. Jack is sure that he will be a good sire because of his champion bloodlines and his wonderful temperament.
