Nature of problem:
I have been rehabilitating Hollingworth Creek for about 6 years. I find that quite a number of native trees I plant do not die but do not grow. The trees are not all in the same place, I am at a loss knowing what to do.
Type of Plant (if known):
Native Trees which are indigenous to the area.
Symptoms of Plant Illness (please try NOT to diagnose your problems yourself):
Not growing
Soil Type (e.g. sandy, clay or loam) OR Potting Mix Type:
clay based soils
How often do you water the plant:
Now that the plants have been in the ground for over 3 years I do not water them.
How many hours of sunlight does the plant get each day:
In full sun.
What type of plant is it:
As Above
How long since you planted it:
About 3 years
Have you fertilised? If so, with what and when:
I fertilse the trees with Chicken Manure when I plant them.
Is the plant indoors or outdoors:
Outdoors
What other treatments have you given the plant:
On a couple we I tried seasol-no effect.

As you would imagine rehabilitating a creek I plant a lot of trees, shrubs and Lomandra. I lose some because of the climate/dry periods and then silly as it sounds, minor flooding takes plants that have not established themselves. This is partly why I cannot give all the plants full attention as the numbers are too great. I am prepared to put in the effort if there is a way of getting a number of these “stalled” plants to grow.
I will try to be more exact with the type of trees and notify you tomorrow if possible.

Hi Derek, I really have no idea what is going on. Perhaps you could water these plants with Seasol Super Soil wetter, after first forking some holes in the soil. Good luck, Don.
