Hello I have 2 beautiful Traveller palms near the pool one is 110cm from the wall of the pool the other is 140cm from the pool, both are about 5 meters high and have been in the ground for about 4 years. Last summer I notice the first row of pavers where starting to lift I am concerned about the roots going into the side of the pool. The pool is a above ground pool which we sunk into the ground, when they back filled around the pool they used sand and cement. I really love these palm as they provide great screening and look fantastic. My question is if I where to dig down a meter and cut the roots put a rubber mat in the width and depth of the hole and then back filled with sand and cement would the stop the roots from going into the wall of the poo? if not, what other solution do you have, besides pulling them out.
Look forward to hearing from you.
