Question From:
Amy Stanley in  Little Bay,  Sydney NSW

Nature of problem:
Fungi/toadstools growing in my herb pots – are my herbs still ok to eat? What should i do?

Type of Plant (if known):
Herbs – Thyme, Oregano, Rocket

Symptoms of Plant Illness (please try NOT to diagnose your problems yourself):
The herbs are fine (I think), but overnight some interesting looking mushroom/toadstool like things have grown next to my Oregano, Thyme and Rocket. I’m quite concerned knowing these are not edible/poisonous that they may be harmful to my herbs or me if I eat my herbs? I just want to know if the herbs are still good to eat or does the presence of the toadstools mean I can’t eat the herbs? I dug out the mushrooms and within the day they wilted away. They have sprung up after days of rain. Is there something I should do to stop them growing?
