Don’s Tips: Vegies Now

Vegies

We’ve left the warm humid days of summer behind us now, so it’s time to belatedly plant your winter vegies.

Planting them earlier may have led to problems due to the wet summer and constant humidity.

So, now is the time to plant all peas (snow peas, sugar snap peas, common garden peas & sweet peas).  Just push the seeds into dark-damp soil, sprinkle with a little lime and don’t water until the seedlings have emerged.

Now is the time to plant broad beans but stick to the dwarf types – they are more than big enough.

Also plant broccoli, lettuce, onions and true spinach.

Broccoli is truly a wonder food, so why not give it a go.

Sugar snap peas are to die for also!

Good luck with all the vegies.

Hooroo!
