Trees You Will Regret Planting

There are some trees that you really should think about before you plant them.

The evergreen alder grows far too big for a small block of land and it seeks out water – that means pipes and drains etc.

All robinias are grafted onto a thorny green weed. If you damage their roots or neglect the plant, green suckers come up all over your garden AND NEXT DOOR.

Radiata pines do live for maybe 50 years but by then they are very tall and tend to die – costing a fortune to remove.

Leyland Cypresses grow large and shade everything causing many neighbourhood disputes.

English ivy can choke most trees to death as can an uncontrolled wisteria.

Evergreen figs like Ficus Benjamina, Hillii or the Morton Bay fig grow into huge trees with roots that destroy roads and houses.

Take care with trees.
