Last month we looked at the small fluffy white dog breeds and it emerged that the West Highland White Terrier was the best one for families and that the Maltese was the worst.
Due to feedback asking for more information on other breeds, we are now looking at the ten breeds most surrendered to the RSPCA due to problems with the dogs.
The least satisfactory breeds were:
Maltese (the most dumped) followed by:
The Australian Cattle dog
Australian Silkie Terrier
Maremma Sheepdog
Rottweiler
Fox Terrier
Alaskan Malamute
English Setter
German setter
And the Jack Russell Terrier
The ten best breeds (i.e. least dumped) are:
West Highland White Terrier
Cavalier King Charles Spaniel
Hungarian Vizla
Pug
Airedale Terrier
Welsh Corgis
Whippet
British Bulldog
Shetland Sheepdog
Bernese Mountain Dog
& the Schnauzer (all types)
