Want to replace 12 20 year old golden privets that I kept shaped. Sandy soil in full sun. Need a different suitable shrub any suggestions.

Answer: Hi Tom,  I suspect that the plants are not suffering from old age at all. Privets can go on forever. Your watering regime is not good. Water your plants once a week for 45 minutes. This will improve things a lot. Rosemary makess a good hedge in Perth, but you should look at hedges in your area or ask at a local nursery for good performers. Local knowledge is best.  Don
