Hello
I am unable to decide the best plant to plant along our 6metre fence. We live in Bondi with a south facing garden and get the morning sun. I have a very large apartment block neighboring our garden and wish to screen it as much as possible. I have never liked bamboo but it seems it is the quickest and highest growing option for screening. Waterhousea LillyPillis have been suggested but I am not sure if the conditions are right to for them to grow to their highest height or how long it will take to grow.
Please advise what is your experience with both plants and if you have a suggestion of the best option.

Answer:
Hi Tania, I am struggling here. I am not sure how tall you want the plants to grow and you didn’t mention what your soil is like or whether the plants will be in pots. You didn’t mention whether you were intending to prune these plants into a hedge. In general, Waterhousias grow really well in coastal areas, and can reach a height of 20 metres tall, although they usually only grow to 10 metres or so. Don
