As I have seen you use blue metal I was wondering if you could help. In front of our shed we put blue metal fairly thick. I now find when people park there they get bogged reversing. Can I add something to help it pack together. Regards Robyn

Answer: Hi Robyn,  Your blue metal drive looks great. The best that you can do is to reduce the thickness of blue metal: stockpile it for later use. This will reduce the problem significantly. Gravel and blue metal are problematic as the slope gets greater.  I usually do a two coat cold seal tar drive with a compacted roadbase underneath (IE the same as most smaller roads in Australia) using the gravel that is to go on top in the tar as well. Then I put more loose gravel on top…but only a very thin coat.  Don
