lawn drainage

Lawn flooding from heavy rains.

Much of Australia has been inundated with heaps of rain over summer, so many lawns are struggling.

Mow the lawn often, do not fertilise it & try not to walk on it too much.

Walking on it causes leaf scrapes which allow fungal diseases to rot the leaves, turning them yellow then brown.

Fertilising now may cause the plants’ immune systems to falter again causing diseases.

If we get a sunny, dry autumn perhaps fertilise the lawn lightly at that time.

This has been a weird weird year in so many areas.  Expect lots of mushrooms and toadstools and bracket fungi.  DO NOT EAT THE MUSHROOMS.

…. oh and wash your toes really well too!

Hooroo!
