Don pruning roses.

Most people prune their roses in the dead of winter… & this is correct.

BUT if you prune them again now, in early February, they will produce a superb autumn flush of flowers in 4-8 weeks.

Just give your roses a haircut now, removing about 50cm (or 18 inches) all over. This tidies the roses up a bit as well.

You could also give them a light dressing of rose or citrus food – about 1/3rd the recommended dose – & maybe use some lucerne hay or pea straw mulch around them.

So, prune roses NOW for better flowering in Autumn – remove 50cm of new growth from all over the plant.

Hooroo! Don.
