Many people plant by the moon, but does it work?

Well, it sort of works. Any calendar system that focuses your attention on when to plant, water or fertilise is a good thing.

However, I know of no scientific evidence supporting planting by the moon as having any intrinsic value.

… But whatever floats your boat… as they say!

Last month was a month featuring a “blue moon”. A blue moon is a second full moon in the one calendar month. July had full moons on the 2nd of July and again on 31st. So the 31st of July featured a Blue Moon… dip di dip dip, bom ba bom bom and so on.

If you are really serious about growing plants better, in particular vegies and annuals in general, record precise dates of planting, fertilising, etc. Year by year this will add up to an invaluable guide.

Hooroo!
