Peas

Peas

It’s time to plant all peas: sugar snap peas, snow peas, common peas and the beautiful flowering sweet peas.

… a word of caution though.  Many areas of Australia turned into Bangladesh with its tropical monsoon climate over summer.  Rains occurred almost every day with cloudy periods and high humidity a daily occurrence.

This in turn has set up this Autumn as a danger period for peas because they are prone to fungal diseases during humid weather.

So, maybe you should delay planting seeds or seedlings of snow peas, sugar snap peas, common peas and sweet peas until the autumn weather settles into a cooler, less humid pattern.

Be very careful not to over water any pea plants and give them a dressing of garden lime as well.  Peas like alkaline soil as do lavenders.

Take care with all pea varieties this year.

Hooroo!
