Leaf Drop

With severe weather swings in recent months, most gum trees and many other trees as well have dropped huge amounts of leaves and bark.

Obviously it has been a bad time for swimming pool owners, but the bushfire risks are rather more serious.

Cleaning dead leaves, twigs and bark from around houses and outbuildings is very important in areas adjoining bush land. This is part of bushfire preparations. Keeping buckets and even wheelie bins full of water is also a good idea.

Don’t forget to constantly remove leaves and other organic matter that may burn from your roof too. These leaves etc readily catch fire during bushfires.

Checkout ‘Bushfire Survival Plan’ on google.

In an emergency a leaf-blower is fine for leaf removal, but raking and bagging or barrowing away is far better if you have time.

Good luck & Hooroo! Don.
