Kids’ Gardens

We get emails from mums and dads asking about gardens for kids. So here goes:

Kids love special places like a fairy castle for girls or a fort for boys. These can be slightly modified sheds.

Kids love a grassy mount to roll down, plus magic plant areas like:

Daisy fields, sunflower beds, strawberry fields, fields of violets, weeping mulberries to hide under, and lots of perfumed plants like:

Lavenders

Heliotropes

Gardenias

Osmanthus and

(not too thorny) roses.

Kids love a garden with flowers to pick for mum or just for fun.

Kids love small ponds, gravel paths (or concrete paths to ride bikes on), and of course, sand pits.

Kids love throwing gravel into ponds. The ponds must be less than 30cm (1 ft.) deep for safety.

and don’t forget messy areas where the kids can dig holes and explore things – developing their imaginations.

What about land rights for kids?
