Window Cleaning
Of all the irksome household chores, cleaning windows has to be right up there with the ironing. Commercial cleaners, soap and water, newspaper and other methods all work reasonably well, but there has to be a better way! Peter Valder recommends the following home-made recipe for squeaky clean windows every time. Mix about 200 mls of methylated spirits with 1.5 litres of warm water. Take a synthetic chamois, dip it in, squeeze it out thoroughly and then wipe the windows all over. Next find a rag (old singlets and underpants are very good for this) and polish the windows. Don’t forget to repeat the procedure on the other side of the window as well.
