Fibro Makeover – Tuscan effect
Late last year Don and the Burke’s Backyard team transformed an ugly backyard into a spectacular, Tuscan inspired entertainment area. One of the problems they had to contend with was an old fibro garage with flaking, powdery white paint. Using basic handyman techniques and working on a low budget, they repainted the garage with a textural finish and a colour to tone in with the house. Recently we received a very interesting letter from Lynette Taylor in Western Australia. She liked that makeover so much that she decided to try and do the same thing with her own fibro homestead! Lynette followed the fact sheet step by step, removing batterns, filling gaps, and painting with the same Tuscan colour scheme. She told us that everyone thought she was being "a bit radical", but when they saw the finished result they were very impressed. Lynette enclosed some photographs with her letter; not only does the house look wonderful, it has probably also increased in value.
