Don visited ‘Ern’s Frog Heaven’ in Brisbane, Queensland. Ern Paddick has been collecting frog memorabilia for over 15 years. The collection is kept in a shed at the side of the house, which has been extended to accommodate all the frogs. It is now 55 ft long and 15 ft wide.
Ern has over 12,600 different frog items, including salt and pepper shakers, coffee mugs, key rings, moneyboxes, Phonecards, wristwatches, wrapping papers and over 115 types of fabrics with frog designs. The items are all stored, catalogued and insured for an undisclosed sum.
Ern’s daughter-in-law, Melinda, hates frogs and is afraid that she will be left with the collection when he croaks!
