Just curious as to how often this appears and what should I do now

Answer:Hi Bronco, this is a female cone on Cycas media, the Sago “Palm”. It needs a male cone to fertilise it, but there may be one nearby. Do nothing and it might set seed. The seed is ripe when the cone breaks up.  Don
