Herbs In Winter

During winter there are some herbs that are well worth growing.

There are lots of varieties of mint: common mint, spearmint and apple mint to name a few.

Rosemary (so good with lamb) grows well now.

Coriander is good in all but the coldest areas. In the warmer months, coriander bolts to seed – so now is good.

You can still plant chives, oregano and marjoram but don’t plant basil outdoors now as it will die of the cold.

Grow herbs in shallow pots that can be placed on tables or barbeques etc.

Fresh is best!

Hooroo, Don
