Dog Restraints
The importance of wearing seatbelts when driving is widely accepted, but all too often dogs travelling inside cars are not restrained. If an accident occurs both the dogs and the passengers in the car can be seriously hurt or killed. In the same way unrestrained dogs travelling on the back of utes can be thrown off the vehicle and suffer horrific injuries.
If it’s absolutely necessary to transport dogs in cars or utes, the risk of injury can be minimised by using an appropriate restraint. A vehicle dog harness for cars is available ($23.95), as well as a dog restraint for utes and vans ($34.95 – $54.95). These are endorsed by the RSPCA and are particularly good.
