Juniperus chinensis ‘Kaizuka’ or the Hollywood juniper is a medium sized conifer growing to about 3m (10′) tall. It is an outstanding plant featuring slightly twisted branches which give the vivid green foliage a swirling, tufted appearance. It is very hardy, and structurally quite attractive despite its twisted, criss-cross growth. It looks particularly good planted in rows or as a clipped specimen in Asian style gardens. Suitable areas to grow ‘Kaizuka’ include Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Hobart, Perth and the mountains.
