Outdoor Kitchen Garden
The client’s brief to John Woollard of Exquisite Gardens was to create an indoor/outdoor entertaining area that could be used at all times of the year. The design had to be modern and innovative, and also blend harmoniously with the style of the Federation house.
Design features
The indoor/outdoor dining area is complete with a polished granite dining table and bar, and a fully appointed kitchen. A pitched roof with frosted glass skylights gives the dining area a theatrical feel, while chrome downlights with dimmers provide a special ambience at night. Two symmetrical cleaved granite waterfalls and a moat surround the dining area. Although the colour scheme in the outdoor kitchen is sedate, the walls around the swimming pool are painted in happy, vibrant colours. The in-ground deck lounges drop down flush with the paving when not in use. A trampoline for the kids is installed at ground level, so if there’s an accident they don’t have so far to fall!
