Just 10 minutes from Canberra city centre, Cockington Green is a fabulous display of miniature buildings and landscaped gardens. The small buildings are meticulously crafted on the premises. They are scale models of their full-size counterparts in Great Britain and include a Scottish castle, a replica of Stonehenge and a period house from Lewes in Sussex. Hundreds of tiny people inhabit the display, and are engaged in activities such as cricket, soccer, rugby and golf. The miniature figures are made from clay, bisque fired and then painted. There is also a model electric train built from plans supplied by British Rail. The miniatures are complemented beautifully by gardens comprising spectacular annuals, Bent grass lawns and dwarf conifers.

International section

The newest part of Cockington Green features miniature buildings from all around the world. Built to one-eighteenth scale, the buildings and structures were chosen for their architectural, cultural and historical significance. They include a 19th century adobe building from Chile, Machu Picchu in Peru, the Aztec capital Tenochitlan (Mexico City), a Czech castle, a Dutch windmill and a typical Colombian market village setting.
