While in Japan, Don looked at some astonishing, hi-tech toilets.

Top of the range was the INAX Satis 118A, costing Yen 280,000 plus installation (around A$4,000). The first thing you notice about this toilet is that the lid opens as you approach! There are many other features, including a posterior shower, feminine bidet, dryer, heated seat, toilet light and seat sensor to prevent the accidental spray. Colours range from pure white through to beige, ivory, blue-grey, pink, sand-beige and fog-green. Buyers can choose either the wall-attached, backlight remote controller or an interior type, which is attached to the toilet roll holder.
