Every week part of Burke’s Backyard is filmed in Don’s garden. It is an indigenous native garden, which mostly features plants that are native to the local area. A well-manicured, emerald green lawn offsets the areas of bush. Don grows two varieties of soft-leafed buffalo in his garden – ‘Sir Walter’ and ‘Shademaster’.
If you’d like to grow a native garden but worry that it might look a bit scruffy or untidy, take Don’s tip and plant a lush, green lawn. It will enhance the beauty of the bush and your garden will always look good.
