Nature of problem: 
Mealy bug

 

Type of Plant (if known): 
Maiden hair fern

 

Symptoms of Plant Illness (please try NOT to diagnose your problems yourself): 
White Colton wool appearance not much growth

 

Soil Type (e.g. sandy, clay or loam) OR Potting Mix Type: 
Pot n peak

 

How often do you water the plant:
In winter once a fortnight and weekly in summer

 

How many hours of sunlight does the plant get each day:
Ten to twelve hours

 

What type of plant is it:
Maiden hair

 

How long since you planted it:
Repotted one year ago

 

Have you fertilised? If so, with what and when:
Fortnightly with Aqua sol

 

Is the plant indoors or outdoors: 
Outdoors

 

What other treatments have you given the plant: 
Confided spray and tablets and pest oil

Answer: Hi Leanne,  Your story doesn’t really ring true. Normally Mealy bug only troubles indoor plants. Your self-diagnosis instead of more details on the symptoms (or better still a photo), has prevented me from being able to help you.  Don
