Weeds
Many areas have had a lot of rain recently. While the ground is wet is an ideal time to do some weeding.
Weeds are easy to pull out of damp or wet soil.
Weeds in lawn areas are caused by mowing too closely, by excessive foot traffic forming tracks in the lawn, by compacted soil, plus lack of water and fertilizer.
That is, you actually cause the weeds to prosper.
So aerate your lawn, mow a bit higher and build a path to keep foot traffic off the lawn.
Between now and the end of September, spray with Bindii Killer to remove clover, oxalis and bindii in lawns.
Then in spring your lawn will look really good.
