Don’s Tips: Gardenias

Gardenia

White gardenia flower

Have you noticed how good the gardenias are at the moment?

Gardenias are those shrubs, mostly around knee-high that produce the stunning pure white flowers with the sensuous perfume.

Gardenias are fabulous plants: they flower for most of the year, they are really hardy and they are small enough to fit into any garden .

What do they need? Well they love duck poo, but chook poo like Dynamic Lifter will do fine. They love humidity, heat and being watered.

There is a ground covering prostrate gardenia called radicans and the best shrubby one are ‘Florida’ and ‘Magnifica’.

Gardenias LOVE January.

Hooroo! Don.
