Brett Russell has always had a passion for the theatre. At the age of 8 he was taking over school plays and directing his classmates. Having performed in numerous musicals such as ‘Les Miserables’ and’42nd Street’, Brett was fulfilling his dream of directing ‘Crazy For You’ when 6 weeks out from opening night he was diagnosed with Burkitt’s Lymphoma. The quick diagnosis and aggressive treatment of the cancer enabled Brett to make a remarkable recovery and get back into his life. Brett’s flatmate, Rado, has been welcomed to Australia and this theatrical home with open arms. As a sign of both support and thanks he contacted Backyard Blitz to ask for some help in making the tiny backyard a bit more livable.
