All my Clivias are a mess of brown and white rotten leaves

It seems to have happened very suddenly as I am in the garden most days and only notice the disaster today.
Answer: Sounds like the lily caterpillar (google it) – they are probably gone by now. The plants may recover. Next summer look out for small caterpillars in summer and spray them with caterpillar killer. Don
