What edible crops do you sow now?
Well, it’s time to sow beans. There are both dwarf varieties which are shrubby and grow around 1/2m tall and climbing beans that grow to about 2m tall.
The dwarf beans are ideal for raised vegie gardens, but the climbing beans may be a problem as they need staking to 2m from the soil level – which is too high to pick the fruit.
So use the climbing beans in ground level plantings against a fence or other structure – with some climbing aids like wire attached.
Beans are very productive and the climbing beans are significantly more productive (i.e. more beans) than the dwarf varieties.
Home grown beans – the best beans ever.
Hooroo! Don.
