Do lemon tree roots need sunlight? We want to build a deck around the lemon tree. Parts of the deck would be removeable so we could mulch, fertiliser and water the lemon tree, but the roots would otherwise be covered by the deck. Would this be a problem?

Answer:

It should be OK. Just ensure that it doesn’t get damp & smelly under there.
