Don’s Tips – Bare-Rooted Trees

Bare-Rooted Trees

Bare-Rooted Trees

July is the best month of the year to buy all deciduous plants.

The best selection of fruit trees such as apples, peaches, nectarines, pears, cherries, apricots, plums and almonds are available now.

You can also get ornamental deciduous trees like maples, elms, flowering blossom trees, claret and golden ashes, etc.

All of the trees are dug up during winter and are sold bare-rooted or potted up loosely into pots of potting mix.

During winter it’s quite safe to bare-root plants and this also includes roses, raspberries, and other berries.

If you want a romantic blossom-filled spring, give some thoughts to soft pink or white flowering cherries or plums or crab-apples.

Celebrate spring with spring flowering plants.  But plant them now before they sell out.
