My favorite road side stalls are in the Victorian and NSW border region. When we were on holiday along the Murray River at Cobram we picked up a brochure called "The Farm Gate Trail". This brochure had a map of the most wonderful farms to visit where you could pick your own fruit or use a road side stall, visit a winery or see the cheese actually being made on a diary farm. There was also a local brewery and an almond and honey place. There were also some really different things such as a rose farm, a lavender farm and a cactus farm. We had the best time and met some real characters - I highly recommend it.

I am talking about veg stalls in South Australia, there are quite a few, good ones, unfortunately we do not have very many here on Yorke Peninsula, my fave ones are at suburban shopping centres, and are family businesses. The ones I like are 2 at Marden shopping centre, and 1 at Firle shopping centre. Also unbeatable is the Central Market in Adelaide, and also the Lobethal market on Sundays is excellent.

ALEPPO PINE TREE

Posted 1005 days ago

Does anyone have a favourable opinion on Aleppo Pine Trees, as in our area here on Southern Yorke Peninsula, some consider them as "feral", I do not share that opinion, and would like some feedback.

The Pomonal (Grampians area) markets are held on the last Sunday of every month, really yummy fresh fruit and veg, lots of plants and other crafts, the home made slices and bikkies are to die for, well worth a drive.
The Strawberry farm just outside of Portland on the Henty highway to Heywood/ Hamilton is also a great place to visit, pick your own or buy already picked fruit. They also have strawberry wine, toffee and other things made from strawberries.
Cheers C.
