Greenacres near Giru, down the road from Townsville there is the Fisho, they have the best & cheapest seafood around and so easy to pull in & pick it up from the van.
Highly recommend a visit.

From Rockhampton to Monto a number of farms along the highway have vegetable stalls where you pay a couple of dollars for pumpkins, beans, potatoes, watermelons etc.

The Atherton Tablelands, west of Cairns have the freshest produce and too many stalls to count! From Tropical fruit to tea-bags, stone fruit, pumpkins and strawberries and more.

Peachester Fruit & Veges, on Kilcoy Rd in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
Locally grown produce, always fresh and at a price you can't drive past.
Pineapples $2.50 this week, bananas usually a couple of bucks a kilo, mangoes when in season (from Bowen) app $1 each if you buy a tray of them.

Peanuts, Kingaroy and Nanango.
Beautiful local peanuts, all kinds of flavours (ie salt and vinegar etc, or plain) both are road side vans, these make good gifts to take home for friends and family as a memento of your trip.
