Weep Holes??

Posted 1562 days ago

Hi i just bought a house which is rendered but the previous owners had rendered over the existing weep holes. Can i create my own weep holes with a chisel and hammer or should i get a professional to do the work.
Thanks in advance.

yes you can create your own weep holes. Find where two bricks are join [a perp] Use a plugging chisel or 100mm angle grinder to help to start removing the morter.Must be in the course above any concrete. All morter must be removed to back of brick. Space 1.800 apart max.Go and give it a go!REGARDS Leyland
