Cover Chain Wire Fence For Privacy

Posted 1175 days ago

I have a chain wire fence for my backyard fence, the neighbours over the back park their cars on the other side and look down onto our house as they are higher up than us but i want to cover the fence for at least some privacy, we have thought of screwing colourbond sheets to it and or growing a vine over it? Any suggestions would be great as it may give us some other options, if we use a vine i dont want something too messy that drops leaves/flowers everywhere, i dont want to upset my neighbours as they are nice. Just need some privacy.
Cheers Fossy.

How about some passionfruit vines? That way both you and your neighbours could get some fruit.

Thanks HyBriD for your advice. The only thing is the passionfuit will die off and you will be able to see through the fence again, i think passionfuit die off i dont think they are evergreen.
Any more ideas would be great please.
Cheers Flossy

I would personally clad it with timber fence palings or colourbond. Remember fence in current form may not be able to withstand wind loading.

I have a similar problem at my home, I had toyed with the idea of covering the mesh with shadecloth, but this can be costly. I have gone all out and had a wooden paling fence installed - result is I have privacy with 2 fences.
