garden shed set out a square space

hi all how do i set out a rectangle so it is not going to be lopsided and one side is longer than the other thanks.

make sure each of the four corners is 90 degrees (right angle) and that you measure your lengths to be the same size.
usually you should use your garden fence for squareness. just easier

To make sure you start off at 90 degrees use a 3,4,5 triangle. In other words one edge will be 3 (metres, feet, yards - doesn't matter but stick with one) long, the next edge will be 4 (whatever) long, then measure the distance between the ends of your 3 & 4 measurement and it should be 5 (whatever). If not move an end of the 3 or 4 so it meets the 5. This will then ensure that your corner is 90 degrees.
