What type of Screw Do I need

Posted 724 days ago

I am going to use Vila Board to line the inside of a large area at the rear of my home.
What type of screw do I need to screw vila board to aluminium channel.
Is there a special screw used for this purpose.

Hi Ray, best to check out your local hardware shop, there are a number of different types of screw for different materials, what you would need is one for aluminium, they are usually countersunk with course threads, but manufactured for different materials. They are usually a brass screw, or may be anodised. (grey)

These tech screws, as you will know, don't require pre-drilled holes, they drill their own way through, but you need a good drill that you can control the speed, (cordless?) and a good phillips head bit that grips well.

I would think if it goes through aluminium it will go through Visy Board.

DO NOT USE BRASS WITH ALUMINIUM it will cause electrolysis. Use stainless steel.
