Help! Budget friendly backyard(DIY) Posted 214 days ago Hello,
I'm a mother of two(a 1 1/2 yrs old girl & 3 1/2 yrs old boy)and i'm expecting one in Sept.
We've been in our house for 8 mos. but we haven't done much in the backyard we're having trouble coming up w/ the design. Our backyard is 8.5 depth from the house and 15 width.
My husband bought a 2nd hand shed but it's way too big it almost occupied half of the backyard w/c makes it even smaller.
I would love to have a playground for our growing family and would love it done before the baby's due. I'm also planning a surprise party for my husband's 60th birthday, so a playground for the children and our friend's children would be nice. My son loves to have cubby house.
Hope you can help us w/ this project which we can do ourselves.
Sincerely yours,
Rosemarie Hall |

RE: Help! Budget friendly backyard(DIY) Posted 147 days ago Not sure if you have gone ahead and completed your garden yet, but seeing i just came across this post i thought i would offer some suggestions.
What about a garden around the fence. The will allow for the central lawn area to be used for playing/entertaining.
A swing set/cubby house and/or trampoline will keep the kids happy. One section could be used as a herb/vegie garden (which the the kids will LOVE to help out with), and plant the rest of the garden with drought proof and native plants. Your local nursery should be able to help you with what grows best in your area. |

RE: Help! Budget friendly backyard(DIY) Posted 144 days ago Hi - maybe some lattice attached to the shed and planting climbers on it would soften the shed- and plant some quick growing natives such as lemon scented tea trees around the fences- good luck - flowerbird |
