Pebblecrete Courtyard

Posted 426 days ago

I have a courtyard with this horrible Pebblecrete (I assume that is how you spell it). It gets incredibly dirty and it is stained from pots draining directly onto it. Also some fertilizers leave a very nasty rusty stain.

Is there any product that will clean this mess up and leave the Pebblecrete looking a lot cleaner and brighter? I did try some bleach once but it just left the Pebblecrete much lighter, but duller than the rest of it. Thanks for any help.

Hi Aquarius

I don't know how to help, but I reckon Shannon Lush could help. She is an expert in cleaning absolutley everything and gets questions like this on the radio all the time. You can probably find the answer on her website:

G'day,
I have found that Bi-Card of Soda and Vinegar is terrific for concrete. For really stubborn discolouration, you could try Hydrochloric acid (HCL) at say 10% concentration with water. Remember, ALWAYS add the acid to the water.

you could hire a pressure gun that cleans concrete pretty well. we wash ours with it just before we seal it

rrvau's post brought to mind something our chemistry teacher drummed into us in high-school....."may her rest be long and placid ; she put water in the acid. She forgot what we had taught 'er ; PUT THE ACID IN THE WATER."

There is also LCR (Lime, Calcium, Rust) liquid and also "30-seconds" liquid - forgot exact name, but you dilute it as specified, spray on, wait 30 seconds or bit longer and hose it off. But some stains are quite

Blessed be your chemistry teacher Hutcho; first time I've heard that rhyme. Thanks for the concrete cleaning tip Rrvau. I've tried everything else so I'll give it a go.
