RE: Budgie with sore head Posted 554 days ago If it was a wild budgie to start with, the best thing for it is to release it where you first rescued it. Wild budgies can't be tamed, and will fret. The head-rubbing is one symptom of that. Nice work saving it from the cat !! |

RE: Budgie with sore head Posted 551 days ago I don't know what area you are in but it's highly unlikely that it's a wild budgie; wild budgies are smaller than the budgies in the pet shops and come in one colour only - green. If it isn't a wild budgie then DO NOT let it go because it WILL be killed by wild birds or a cat if not caught buy someone else. It may be moulting at the moment so that could be the reason that it is rubbing it's head. If you cannot take it to an avian vet, check the classifieds in your local paper for a breeder that is close by and ask them if they would take a look at it for you. Good Luck. |
