Containment Package?

I have a labrador cross & no matter how high we make the fence she gets over it into the front yard which is not fenced so need a restraint & am wondering if these containment packages advertised are the way to go? Has any reader used one? They are pretty expensive so don't want to put money out on a product that might not work. She is a friendly dog & loves kids & that is the problem, there are always kids going past our place.
