Skinks! yikes!

Posted 329 days ago

My backyard has a problem - skinks. While it's great to have them eating away bugs and other pests, I think I have one too many of them. Just the other day while relaxing on the deck, 2 large skinks ran under my lazy chair chasing each other!! Also, about a month ago, there were two large skinks in my living room, under the TV stand (no idea how they got it)!! Not a fan unfortunately....

The problem is, I believe they come from my neighbour's backyard...with tall grass and tonnes of dry/dead foliages laying around (not sure when was the last time their lawn was mowed). Instead of asking my neighbour to clear up their mess, do you guys have any advice on skink repellents? Am not trying to get rid of them but would like to set some boundaries in the back yard. THANKS!

Hi xeon11, I don't believe I have ever heard of this problem before but perhaps you could try herbs. Here is a website that gives you things that can repel insects & things, not skinks but you could give some a try - who knows what could work.

If I was you I would move to a tall block of units in the middle of your nearest large city! Those skinks are dangerous and may eat you while you are sleeping!

Cheers Bud.
