I would love to know why do parrots cockatiels and galahs hang upside down after we have had a thunderstorm even our 17 year old pet cockatiel will hang upside down in his cage out side it is a strange thing to see 20 or more galahs hanging upside down on power lines hope you can help

My cockateils, budgies and galah do the same, I just presumed it was to get some rain under their wings as mine tend to spread them out when they do this.

A friend and I were out delivering papers in the rain one time very early in the morning and like you, ma30 we saw a mass of galahs hanging upside down on the power lines they seemed to be bathing. We laughed and laughed. They seemed to be having so much fun amongst themselves, I think it is a hygeine thing. We sat and watched them for about 5 minutes.
